hiatus

It seems like the last time I wrote here was about a year and a month ago. I'm sorry for the long hiatus as I've been busy with school and work. I have a full time employment and at the same time pursuing a degree.

Over the last one year, I have developed a craze - to create things from scratch. Now the problem is though, I dont have my own kitchen to store my stuff, so I have to put that on hold.

I might be making my own corned beef though. The quality of canned corned beef, has dropped and I dont enjoy corned beef as much as I used too. What's worse is that the priced has not only tripled, but quality of corned beef has dropped so much! I got to make my own corned beef. I found a great recipe but it calls for salt peter, which many argued that it's bad for the system. Until I've found concrete evidence that it's safe for usage, I think I would put the corned beef on hold, OR will be attempting to make it after my exams.

Over the last one year, I havent cooked that much. I was told to stay off kitchen until I'm done with exams. Two weeks later, I'll be done with my final semester and I'm a little excited now. I'd really loved to make my own corned beef.

Last year, my biggest food project is roast beef, with home made mash, served with brown sauce. The outcome was a huge success as the roast beef was cleaned within the first hour it was served. My family loved it and said they looked forward to more roast beef in the future.

If you are looking for desserts project from me, I'm sorry to disappoint you but I dont crave for desserts much, except chocolates. I'm not a dessert person and I prefer savoury items over sweet.

I do hope to accomplish the following food project over the next 3 mths:
- Fajitas (without the use of pre-mix and seasoning)
- Curing my own Corned beef, then making a Reuben sandwich (less sauerkraut)
- Buttermilk Fried Chicken (Keller's style)
- more Roast Beef
